For promotion of the health in the cross-border region between the Republic of Macedonia and R. Bulgaria
PHI Clinical Hospital, Stip, Macedonia and Regional College of the Bulgarian Medical Association, Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria successfully completed the implementation of the project “Integration of European healthcare standards and innovations on the way for development of cross-border health cluster “, Ref: CB006.1.31.017. The project is financed by the Ist call for the INTERREG IPA Cross-border Program Bulgaria-Macedonia 2014-2020 and implemented on the territory of the East planning region and the Blagoevgrad region. The activities realized within the project aimed at overcoming the common shortcomings regarding the state of the health care systems in both countries, as well as the evident lack of highly skilled personnel and the migration of young medical experts. Within the project, press conferences for project promotion, trainings for capacity building of young doctors and medical specialists and promotional events “Open Days of Health” in both regions were successfully implemented. At the same time a joint promotional health catalog for the promotion of health services in the cross-border region, a strategy and action plan for the newly established cluster for health and a web site were developed. In addition large media campaign for the promotion of the project and the results was conducted and specific medical equipment for the regional hospital department Otorhinolaryngology at the PHI Clinical Hospital Stip and specialized medical equipment for SABLO “Sveti Mina”, Blagoevgrad was purchased.
Although the CBHealth project is in the final phase, joint activities will continue within the cross-border health cluster through which future joint projects will be implemented in order to strengthen the overall economic and social development of the cross-border region.
